Sexual Health Services

Sexual Health

Sexual health is an essential part of overall health and wellbeing, supporting physical health, emotional confidence and healthy relationships at every stage of life. Looking after your sexual health helps to prevent and treat sexually transmitted infections (STIs), avoid unplanned pregnancies, and ensures any concerns are identified and managed early.

In the Oxford area, NHS sexual health services offer confidential, non‑judgemental care for everyone, whatever your age, gender or sexual orientation. Services typically include free STI testing and treatment, HIV testing and support, contraception (including long‑acting reversible methods and emergency contraception), HIV PrEP and PEP, vaccinations such as HPV and hepatitis, and expert advice on relationships, consent and sexual wellbeing. Most services are free and confidential, and you can often access them through clinics, GP referrals or online testing options, making it easier to take control of your sexual health when you need to.

STI Awareness Month

April is STI Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness of sexually transmitted infections and the importance of regular testing. Many STIs have no symptoms, so testing is the only way to know for sure and to protect your health and that of others. If you have any concerns, have changed partners, or would simply like peace of mind, please contact us to book an appointment or learn more about local sexual health services.

We offer a range of contraception options to help you choose what works best for your health and lifestyle. Whether you’re starting contraception for the first time, thinking about changing your method, or have questions about side effects, our nurse team is available to support you. You can book an appointment at any time for a confidential discussion and personalised advice, helping you make an informed choice with confidence.
