Marie Curie Cancer Care

Marie Curie Cancer Care is a UK charity dedicated to the care of people with terminal cancer and other illnesses. Over the financial year 2010/11, we reached a total of 31,799 patients

Youth Health Talk

Youthhealthtalk enables young people, their family and friends, and professionals such as doctors and teachers to understand young people's experiences of health, illness and life in general. The website feature real-life accounts of issues such as effect on work and education, social life and relationships, consulting health professionals and treatment.


Mr Maan Younis (m)

Mr Younis is a Clinical Pharmacist attached to the Practice.  He works closely with the medical and nursing staff to improve patient care. He can see:

  • Minor illness
  • COPD and asthma reviews
  • Diabetes reviews
  • contraceptive pill checks
  • Prescription queries

Community Midwives

A midwife makes weekly visits to the practice and shares responsibility for antenatal and postnatal care with the doctors. A number of options are available during childbirth and these can be discussed with the midwife or doctor.

Community Nurses

District Nurses provide nursing care and support to patients and carers in their own home. They offer a broad nursing service specialising in areas of palliative care, wound care and management of continence. The daytime service is available between 8.00 am and 4.30 pm 7 days a week. The district nurses can be contacted direct by telephoning 01865 903061.

Health Visitors are qualified nurses with special training in child health, health promotion and education.  They work mainly with children and families.  They are based at South Parade next to the library.  They can be contacted on 01865 903800.
